Rock Band Network: Neue Songs, selbst gemacht Originalmeldung: Indie Bands oder Superstars der Rockgeschichte sollen gleichermaßen vom Rock Band Network profitieren. Da viele Fans des Spiels ebenso viele Wünsche nach Songs von ihrer Lieblingsband haben, kommt Entwickler Harmonix gar nicht mehr hinterher mit dem Basteln neuer Tracks. Mit einem neuen Tool (Release: im Laufdes Jahres) sollen das die Bands selbst erledigen, berichtet Billboard. Deren Songs werden dann im Rock Band Network hochgeladen und vor der Veröffentlichung getestet. Andere Entwickler spielen dabei die Songs Probe, damit diese auch in jedem Schwierigkeitsgrad gut zu spielen sind. Außerdem werden Copyright-Verletzungen und die Texte auf "böse" Ausdrücke kontrolliert. Danach kann der Künstler festlegen, zu welchem Preis das Lied als Download angeboten wird. Die Preise liegen zwischen 50 Cent und 3 US-Dollar. Voerst wird es diese Option nur für die Xbox 360 geben. Ob die Tracks auch auf PS3 und Wii angeboten werden, steht noch nicht fest. Harmonix erwarten, dass der Output an neuen Liedern sich dann mindestens verzehnfache - das wären dann über 100 neue Tracks pro Woche! Die Beta-Version soll übrigens im August öffentlich gemacht werden.
