IGN - 9 von 10
Resistance 3 offers the same polished experience as the last two games in the series, only this time the action is more focused and tightly structured. Insomniac clearly wanted to make this game a more harrowing and personal experience, and by focusing its attention on a smaller, more personal story within the invasion, it has succeeded without question. While the big military operations have been replaced by more intimate battles, the sense of scale is as intimidating as ever. This is a surprisingly emotional cinematic roller-coaster of a campaign that never lets up.
Meristation - 9 von 10
It is true that it has some bugs here and there, and the multiplayer is not as crowded as before, but this is something that nothing ruins the collection itself, the sum of its parts, in the intense gaming experience and spectacular the title aims to give those who acquire them. Perfect cross between One Man's Journey of Resistance 1 and epic militaristic Resistance 2, the journey of Joseph Capelli became a title-the first in the heavy bombardment pre-Christmas of this year, with weapons varied and original Intelligent enemies, sometimes huge and ruthless, the result of a challenging enemy AI, which undoubtedly will delight fans of the series, as well as those simply looking for 10-12 hours of gameplay and intense FPS without respite and / or multiplayer fun. As the old saying goes: "The best for last."

There's a greater feeling of depth, life and narrative to the tale and the gunplay is satisfying even if we do have to reserve some criticism for the AI, which still shows itself to be rough around the edges at times. Insomniac isn't going to turn over the FPS genre this year by any stretch of the imagination - this is still the classic FPS formula with more polish and playability. Regardless, the studio has managed to increase the big blockbuster moments that slap your face for attention and tend to the finer details that will keep you engaged throughout all the bits in-between. It might be too late for some players, but with the final segment of its trilogy Resistance has finally met its promise. It's still big men firing big guns at big enemies - but now there's a big chunk of depth below its surface, too.

There are numerous FPS games released each year that it's hard for some of them to stand out in the overcrowded market. Thankfully, Insomniac Games has managed to make Resistance 3 a fun and innovative experience. The addition of unique weapons, cool looking enemies and split-screen multiplayer is a major plus for me. The feature to reintroduce the health bar system is also a refreshing experience that sets Resistance 3 apart from many other games. The multiplayer mode is also heaps of fun to play and will add hours of more entertainment beyond the single player mode. Although it's only September, Resistance 3 is sure to be a contender for "Game of the Year".
Joystiq - 4,5 von 5
With each level you gain in the multiplayer component, new weapons, tools and abilities become available on the loadout screen. You can add these items to your collection using the skill points you earn with each level -- or you can pass on them, saving up your skill points to upgrade some of your favorite armaments at a steeper cost. For instance, instead of buying a few abilities which became available as I leveled, I stored up a few points and boosted my shotgun, which now fires combustable buckshot. See you on the battlefield, sucker. It's just one smart system afloat in a sea of increasingly smart systems; evidence that Insomniac Games' system-launching franchise has finally found its footing as a defining brand for the platform. Resistance 3 isn't just a great game full of marked, inspired improvements over its predecessor -- it's a declaration of intent to become the new heir apparent to the sci-fi shooter throne.
G4 - 5 von 5
Resistance 3 provides a cohesive and polished triple-a shooter experience. What is most exciting is that Insomniac has decided to be itself. It always felt like they were trying to compete with the big boys by copying them, and that is an unwinnable war. It was Insomniac's answer to Halo or Call of Duty, rather than Insomniac's take on the shooter. Resistance 3 is finally confident enough to be itself - and in that way it is something brutal, something whimsical, and ultimately, something special.
Eurogamer - 8 von 10
Resistance 3 gets almost everything right, yet never quite ascends to greatness. Both single- and multiplayer urges are given equal attention, and all the boxes you'd expect a modern FPS to tick are dutifully filled in. That sense of obligation is, perhaps, the problem. First-person shooter design has reached an evolutionary ceiling and desperately needs some mutant DNA to push it onwards and upwards. Resistance 3 could have provided that genetic jolt; but Insomniac has chosen to look back to how we used to play rather than grapple with how we could play in the future. As understandable as it is, that cautious approach results in a game that is extremely enjoyable, but never as imaginative as you want it to be.
